HISTORY
Tora Olafsdotter, the daughter of the king of a tribe of 'magical ice people', was the second woman known as Ice Maiden to serve as Norway's representative in the Global Guardians (the first was scientist Sigrid Nansen). After that group disbanded, she and her friend Green Flame joined the Justice League, where they became known as Fire and Ice. Her mild nature and her powers to create ice and snow meant she was sometimes overlooked by her team-mates, apart from Guy Gardner, who was besotted with her. Ice died rebelling against the Overmaster, who had increased her powers.
In recent years, Ice has returned to life.
[NOTE: It is not entirely clear where Tora took over from Sigrid in the Global Guardians – the first appearance listed is the first that is definitely her.]
