HISTORY

Nothing has been revealed about Jediah Caul's life prior to becoming a Green Lantern. He was chosen by the power ring after killing a Green Lantern under unknown circumstances.

At the request of the Guardians of the Universe, Caul became a deep cover Green Lantern operating in the expanse of space known as the Tenebrian Domain, ruled by Lady Styx. Centuries earlier, the Guardians and Styx had made a treaty of non-interference in each others' protectorates. Due to technology designed to detect power ring signatures, Caul would not use his ring except in the outer fringes of the Tenebrian Domain. Rather self-centered, both his attitude and location prevent him from fraternizing with other members of the Green Lantern Corps, yet he was aware of the threat of the Third Army, though uninterested in involving himself in the matter.

On orders of the Zamarons, Star Sapphire Carol Ferris entered the Tenebrian Domain to seek an audience with Lady Styx. Caul was used as a point of contact, an action against his wishes. He brought the Star Sapphire and her comrades Blue Lantern Saint Walker and Yellow Lantern Arkillo to the smugglers known as Star Rovers, who were to bring Sapphire into the Domain.

While Karel Sorensen did indeed fulfill that part of the contract, once in the Domain she sold out the Star Sapphire to a talent scout for the Glimmernet program "The Hunted." Her fellow Star Rovers tried to do the same to the Blue and Yellow Lanterns but were unsuccessful. Jediah Caul soon found himself "persuaded" into assisting in her rescue.

The Lanterns found Star Sapphire but were detected when Saint Walker used his power ring to restrain Arkillo. An attempt to escape was made, but Arkillo knocked out Caul. The deep cover Green Lantern was captured and found himself the next contestant on The Hunted, with a dampener on his ring and his power battery taken from him.

As a "spectrum warrior" Caul became a popular contestant of "The Hunted." He soon found himself involved with other Hunted such as Ember, Stealth, Ric Starr and T'omas T'morra. Caul was able to retrieve his battery and use the ring as a Green Lantern once more. Despite the ring, his back was broken in a confrontation with Brainiac in which Caul saved the Sh'diki Borough of Tolerance from the Collector of Worlds.

When "The Hunted" was cancelled, Caul's spine was repaired and he was offered a starring role in a new Glimmernet program. He took the opportunity as presented, not realizing the situation he was actually placed in. Teleporting into what he believed would be a meeting with Lady Styx, Caul was inadvertently gunned down by Star Hawkins.
