OVERVIEW

One-time homeworld of the Sinestro Corps.

HISTORY

An ancient world with an advanced civilization, Korugar is best known as the homeworld of the fallen Green Lantern Thaal Sinestro. Considered one of the greatest of the Green Lanterns, Sinestro let his fear of chaos overwhelm him as he took control over his world in order to better protect it. The population chafed at his rule and started an open rebellion. Sinestro was stripped of his power ring, expelled from the Green Lantern Corps and banished to the Antimatter Universe of Qward.

The next to take the responsibility of the ring was Katma Tui. By that point, the Green Lanterns were looked upon as agents of tyranny. "Katma-Tui the Lost" was not welcome on Korugar and that could explain in part her readiness to relocate to Earth after the so-called Crisis on Infinite Earths.
