HISTORY

Nibelos is a mining planet and the only known source of tellurium an ore with the unique properties of being able to transmute mental energy into heat. Another ore, angratite, was used as a dense insulator to block stray mental energies which otherwise could lead to disastrous consequences. An unaligned world, Nibelos had at times been visited by representatives from Betrassus.

In the prelude to the Sinestro Corps War the Children of the White Lobe targeted Nibelos. The Lobe spawn took the local miners hostage to seize the tellurium which would then be implanted within themselves, making them into living bombs. Green Lanterns Soranik Natu of Korugar and Princess Iolande of Betrassus were able to save the hostage miners.
