Collection template discussion
This page is used using the Collection template for the main collection info and the Story template for the stories.
The Collection template is still being tested and some changes might/will be made before it can be properly used. A few things that needs to be discussed first is how we name the cover files. In this case I've named it "Final Crisis (collected edition) HC.png" for the hardcover edition but is that the best way to name it? I'm open for other suggestions. Also I can see that I need to adjust the template in a way so that if the hardcover and softcover covers are identical only one is shown.
In the Reprint Comments for the first and second story I've added a small version of the cover of the book being reprinted. Would that be a good idea or not. If you like it I can probably incorporate it in the code so that the cover image is automatically added when the reprinted book is listed.
Another thing is I am starting to wonder if the way we list creators now is the best way to do it or if it should be done the other way around. So that instead of:
Credits:
- Grant Morrison (writer)
- J.G. Jones (artist)
- Alex Sinclair (colorist)
we would get:
Credits:
- Writer: Grant Morrison
- Artist: J.G. Jones
- Colorist: Alex Sinclair
The reasoning behind my considerations is that when a lot of creators are listed (such as a book that has an abundance of artists) the "(artists)" part seems to get buried when it appears at the very end instead of up front.
Thoughts on this or any of the above? Also please check out the Template_talk:Collection page for more questions regarding the collection template --Tenzel Kim (talk) 09:44, 13 August 2015 (PDT)
- "Final Crisis (collected edition) HC.png" is fine.
- For credits, I prefer "job" before "name" as I generally think of it as "Who did the artwork?" as opposed to "J.G. Jones, what did he do?" - DRMOUSE2814 (talk) 17:12, 13 August 2015 (EST)
