HISTORY
Zale and her older sister Boodikka were members of the Bellatrix Bombers, a group of female warrior mercenaries in Space Sector 1414. The Bombers were quite successful, but Boodikka became disillusioned as she felt she could be doing more. This started to cause a rift between Boodikka, Zale, and the rest of the Bellatrix Bombers. When Green Lantern Chaselon selected Boodikka for membership in the Green Lantern Corps, the Bombers disowned their blood-sister. Boodikka was warned she would be fired upon if she ever came back to Bellatrix.
Years later, Boodikka lost her sector partner during the Sinestro Corps attack on Oa. As per its programming, the power ring sought out a suitable replacement within Sector 1414 and found Zale of Bellatrix. Zale had remarkable willpower, and was able to override the power ring’s call to Oa for training. She wanted to stay on Bellatrix to protect her blood-sisters. They had told her bounty hunters had been sent against the Bellatrix Bombers. Zale would use the power ring to divert the bounty hunter starships to Bellatrix. The ships were then stripped for parts and the crews of the ships were left to the deserts of Bellatrix. Unbeknownst to Zale, her sisters were selling the captured starship parts for profit.
When Manhunter technology was detected by the Bellatrix Bombers, the last thing they expected was a Green Lantern. Boodikka, now an Alpha-Lantern, had been sent by the Guardians of the Universe to investigate the disappearance of the starships and the three days without a report from Sector 1414's newest Green Lantern. Zale's power ring was drained by Alpha-Lantern Boodikka to eliminate the Green Lantern as a threat. To counter Boodikka, Recca used anti-Manhunter weaponry against the Alpha-Lantern. -Green Lantern Corps Vol. 2 #21
Once Zale realized Recca was only interested in her for her power ring, Zale saw through Recca's deceptions and turned on her fellow Bellatrix Bomber thereby saving Boodikka. Despite her sister rescuing her, Boodikka was ready to decommission Zale from the Green Lantern Corps. Boodikka was interrupted by the Guardians and ordered to bring Zale to Oa.
The Guardians of the Universe recognized Zale as a potentially powerful Green Lantern that had been led astray. Her power battery was taken away and she was placed on probation. Zale would only be able to charge her ring on the power battery in Boodikka’s chest. Thus would both sisters make each other better Green Lanterns. - Green Lantern Corps Vol. 2 #22
Zale was most recently part of an escort detail transporting Sinestro from his sciencell on Oa to his place of execution on his home planet Korugar. The Sinestro Corps staged an ambush to free their leader, only to be in turn taken by surprise by the appearance of the Red Lanterns. The Sinestro Corps were either killed or carried off, while the Green Lanterns were left for dead. Zale’s current status is not known. -Final Crisis: Rage of the Red Lanterns #1
